Types of membership

 

Explanation of the different classes of membership Supplier Membership   Supplier Membership shall be offered to organisations that extend Home Equity Release products. You should find this "seal of approval" on the documentation of your loan provider if they are SAHERPA accredited supplier members. Please click here to view a list of SAHERPA accredited Supplier Members.     Adviser Membership Adviser Membership is offered to organisations or appropriately qualified individuals that are involved in the provision of advice to consumers in the course of the consumer's assessment and consideration of a particular Home Equity Release product offering. Associate Membership Associate Membersip shall be open to organisations functioning in South Africa which represent Senior Citizens' interests and devote all or part of their time and resources to the benefit of the elderly, or any other organisation that devotes its time and effort to the interests of consumers in general terms. Special Membership Special Membership shall be open to all branches of the South African legislature in order to allow communication and an exchange of views to take place freely. Such membership shall not limit the number of delegates, and shall be on the understanding that such delegates shall have no voting rights in terms of the Constitution of SAHERPA. Observer Membership Observer Membership shall be extended, at the sole discretion of the Management Committee and / or Execuitve Committee of SAHERPA, to any other party that has or plans to have an interest in the Home Equity Release industry in South Africa., where such an organisation does not meet the requirements of any of the other available category of membership of SAHERPA. Such membership shall be on the understanding that such delegates shall have no voting rights in terms of the Constitution or in terms of any other area of operation of SAHERPA. Affiliated Membership Organisations with similar objectives outside of the borders of South Africa may apply to the Management Committee for membership and shall be classified as Affiliated Members should their applications be successful. Such delegates shall no voting rights in terms of the Constitution or in terms of any other area of operation of SAHERPA. Fellowship Membership Fellowship of SAHERPA may be conferred on an individual or organisation who has given outstanding service to SAHERPA or to the Home Equity Release industry in South Africa in general at the discretion of SAHERPA after being debated at an Annual or Special General Meeting.
